Haldwani: In commemoration of the auspicious occasion of the holy Harela festival in Uttarakhand, a tree plantation program was conducted under the leadership of Principal Shri Kaustubhanand Lohani at Government Inter College Lamachaur, Haldwani. The event witnessed the active participation of esteemed individuals including Shri Pawan Pant, Shri Mohan Chandra Joshi, Shri Ganesh Chandra Upadhyaya,Shri Jashpalji, Shri Deepak Pandey, Shri Manoj Pandey, NSS Coordinator K D Sharma Ji,Mrs Vidya Arya, Mathematics Teacher Shri Rjendra Padaliiya Ji, Shri H G Pathak, Shri Om Prakash Tripathi, Mrs. Brijeshwari Manral, Dr. Sudha Paliwal, along with all the teachers and staff members.
During this occasion, the students enthusiastically planted various fruit-bearing trees such as Bel (wood apple), Amla (Indian gooseberry), and Amrud (guava) among others. The objective of this initiative was to promote environmental conservation and create awareness about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance.
Principal Shri Kaustubhanand Lohani expressed his gratitude towards all the participants and emphasized the significance of tree plantation in preserving the natural beauty of Uttarakhand. He highlighted that such endeavors contribute towards a greener and healthier environment for future generations.
The tree plantation program at Government Inter College Lamachaur, Haldwani, not only celebrated the holy Harela festival but also served as a collective effort to protect the environment and foster a sense of responsibility towards nature.
